I’m Robyn Reis, Director of All-Stars Hiring Service, and I am excited that you joined me today for Let’s Talk Hiring. So today’s tip is all about how to create an effective job post, and there’s really four components to that. One is in this competitive world for competing talent, right, you want to shine. You want to stand out. So in the beginning part of your job post, tell people who you are, what makes you unique, what makes you different.

00:34

Give them your website so they can go and check it out for themselves. Second part is describe the job and the role and the responsibilities and the expectations that you want this new person to perform. Because applicants are asking themselves, who are you, number one, do I want to work there? And can I do the job? Do I have the skills and abilities and experience that you’re looking for? So third piece of that job post should talk about what’s in it for me.

01:02

It’s not about them being greedy, what it is, what can you offer them? What makes your position, your practice a better choice for them? So tell them about the hours, tell them about the benefits, tell them about anything special and unique as part of that package that maybe another practice doesn’t offer. So how do you, again, stand out in, believe me, lots of job boards, lots of positions, you want to make sure you stand out.

01:32

And then the last piece of your job post is you want to let them know, Hey, does this sound like you? Because if it does, here’s how you can apply. Here’s what we would like you to submit and we’ll be in touch soon. So let them know. And, and doctors, offices, office managers, if you’re part of the hiring process, applicants want to know what’s their status. So even if they’re not a good fit for your practice or the position,

02:00

let them know that so they can continue their search. Lots of applicants will tell us they’re so grateful that our hiring team responded to them whether they were a candidate or not because most often they apply to a lot of places and then they hear nothing. So you hear about candidates ghosting employers. Well, employers, guess what? We also do the same thing. So part of your tips for an effective job post is make sure you tell them who you are.

02:29

what the job entails, what you offer, what’s in it for them, and then lastly, how to apply. And as a bonus, make sure that you’re responding to these candidates. I’m Robin Reese, Director of All-Star’s Hiring Service, and I hope you will like and follow our podcast, our social media, Facebook, go to our website, check out the events we have happening, and I hope to see you in the All-Star Community soon.
